BIG GIG GUIDE
The "Big Gig Guide" is a fully automated listings generator. Artists, managers, promoters and venues can enter their own information onto a web page, which is then processed once a week.
Everybody has their own password protected input page.
The intention of Guide is to promote all contemporary folk music, by exposing people who are interested in a specific artist, to a wider choice.
Currently the Guide is open to any artists who regularly tour the UK, or have their CD's nationally distributed and generally-roughly fall into the category of contemporary acoustic/folk. Only
venues booking artists of this type on a weekly(ish) basis will currently be included.
The next stage will be regional listings, which will be open to smaller venues and artists that have local
followings.
The Guide currently has the following features :
1) A monthly list of all artists, sorted by date and giving the town, venue, web site link and box office contact.
2) Each entry on that
list, links to a full list of all of that artists or venues gigs, in all months.
3) These pages are at specified URL's which can be linked from the artist/venue's own web site, so as to also
maintain their pages automatically.
4) Old gigs are automatically expired.
5) Gigs already entered can be deleted or altered.
